I can’t believe we are almost done with our first Christmas CD. We’ve had so much fun singing and recording Laurens original Christmas tunes and our favorite Christmas covers! I think right now my favorite original is called “Heart of Christmas.” Its harmonies and groove are so fun! Yes I know what you are thinking….Christmas in the summer?? Huh? We will have it ready to be released in November. You can probably tell that we are pretty pumped about it.

I’ve been busy planning my wedding for November 6th and I have to admit this is such a fun time in my life! I highly recommend going to pre-marital counseling (HAHA). Although I’m sure our counselor thinks my fiancé and I are nuts, it is a total blast! Registering at my favorite stores is not too boring either.

Ali is so busy and working tremendously hard at her actuary job and singing! She loves Eagle Brook Church and you can see her sing often at all of the campuses. I love watching her sing, she has such a talent and she has come so far with being in front of people.

Lauren is busy playing wife and taking wonderful care of her child…I mean dog, Harley. She is no longer at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi and is currently looking for a church position so she can use her beautiful voice to lead worship! She has been enjoying White Bear Lake with her husband this summer to the fullest. They love waterskiing and fishing!

We hope to see everyone this summer. Next month (August) we have a lot of shows on the calendar. Make sure to check them out!

Hope you have been enjoying the summer!

Love, Torie

Recap of 2010...

I'm looking out my window at the beautiful white snow falling down. What a wonderful day to be alive! We have had quite a year-many ups and downs. We officially started "Redpath" just over a year ago. We started out really strong with a trip to Nashville where we caught the eye of Teddy Gentry (Alabama band member) and his production company. We were offered a development deal several months later and we decided to turn it down. It was a difficult decision to make but we felt it was the right one. We were extremely honored and humbled to be able to sing with Teddy in Texas this year and get so much great advice about the music business.

We also signed on with a booking agency, The Music Works. This gave us the opportunity to perform in dozens of venues this past summer and fall. After much thought and talk with our agent we have decided to focus our bookings on family events, opening acts, a handful of select clubs, national anthem opportunities, fundraisers, private parties, church events, banquets etc...

Our Christmas concert at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church was a huge success this year. Thank you to our volunteers: Mom, Dad, Mike, Jess, Rebecca & Lauren, Kriss, Denise, Rick, Joan, Grandma Red and everyone else I may have missed. Our band and sound were fabulous-Phil, Bill, Kenni, Dave, Dan, Brad, Grant etc... Thank you to SLC for hosting and helping us promote once again. We had OVER 1000 people! THANK YOU FOR ATTENDING!!!

It is top priority for us to get a Christmas CD out to the public this year. We will begin recording that soon! If you're reading this and have any suggestions for Christmas songs to record, now is the time to email us requests :)

I got married to my husband Mike this past October. We had a beautiful fall wedding outside on White Bear Lake in my Grandma Jan's yard. We had a pretty small wedding with our closest family and friends. It was a magical day!

Torie just got engaged on New Year's Eve to her long-time boyfriend Joe and they are making plans for a November wedding. Ali and I are very excited to plan the bachelorette party. Torie and my Mom have been spending their time searching for the perfect wedding dress. My mom is so detail oriented and did such a wonderful job helping to plan my wedding and she's doing the same for Torie.

We are so excited for my dad. He finally has men around. Most of his life, he has been surrounded by girly women. He is a real manly man so it's good for him to have some guys in the family. Congrats Dad :) We love you. Don't worry, Ali will bring in the best of them all before you know it.

Thank you to everybody who has supported us this past year. We love you guys so much and can't wait to perform for you during 2010. It is always an honor and privilege to sing for you.

Hope to see you soon,
Lauren

Busiest Weekend Yet...

Last weekend was CRAZY! We had gigs Thurs, Friday and Saturday night, which were a TON of fun. But...very tiring! I also sang at Eagle Brook Church on Saturday and Sunday...which requires about 11 hours of my time! Definitely worth it though. It was pretty much the ideal weekend for us- packed with gigs and opportunities to make fans and help provide them with a wonderful weekend! We are pretty excited for Friday because we are opening for GB Leighton. All three of us met him when we were young in Duluth and I remember we thought he was the coolest thing EVER! I'm sure he'll remember us ;) Either way, it will be another opportunity for us to show what we've got in front of a large crowd of people. If you are interested, check out the appearances tab for more info on the gig! Hope to see you guys this weekend sometime.

Family Vaca in Wyoming

This past weekend we traveled to Wyoming to have a burial service for our grandfather who recently passed away. The committal service went very well thanks to mama and her planning and now grandpa rests in the national cemetery in SD. We girls sang “Follow the Shepherd Home,” by Mindy Smith. It’s a beautiful song that our cousin Jess requested. We stayed at our grandma’s cabin in Beulah. The cabin is placed in the middle of a beautiful canyon with a creek that winds around. Although the gathering was for an unfortunate occasion, the family still has its good times together. We are so fortunate to have such wonderful family. We went down the creek with tubes, jumped off the waterfall, ate, sang, danced, and laughed. I don’t remembered the last time I laughed as hard as I did with my cousins! It’s nice to be home for a couple days until Ali and dad run in the Grandma’s Half Marathon in Duluth this weekend! Woo Hoo! Please say some prayers for them!
That’s all for now!

The Luck Of The Redpath Girls While Traveling

Well our weekend in Texas was amazing BUT the travel was crazy! It seemed to go on forever. We flew out of Minneapolis ok but our lay over in Memphis was a little sketchy. We boarded the plane to Austin and then we deboarded and boared a new plane. That was just the start... on the way out of Austin we had to make an emergency landing in Tulsa, OK. We flew around in the air for a while to burn off fuel before landing at this little airport. The pilot told us everything was fine, it was just the hydrolics :/ We land (10:00am) to see fire trucks and ambulances to our left and terrorist unit vans to our right. Something felt off! (We found out later they were expecting a crash landing or a skid landing). We were told we could have been in serious danger. They parked the plane away from the airport so we had to walk outside to get in the building. We then sat in line for 3 hours to try and get a flight home. Many people sat in the airport frustrated and confused. We decided to make light of the situation so we interviewed passengers and let them "vent" to our camera. We got some funny footage! After 3 hours of waiting it turned out we had to stay the night in Tulsa and catch the first flight out the next morning. Our luggage was lost, by the way, in the Tulsa airport. After an hour of searching we finally got our bags. We arrive back at the airport the next day to find our flight is delayed. All I can say is we were SO happy to be back in MN when we finally made it home safe and alive.

If You're Gonna Play In Texas, You Gotta Have A Fiddle In The Band

Although we didn't have a fiddle in the band, we had Teddy Gentry accompany us on the guitar. That's right..he can play guitar too (he played bass for Alabama). The trip was sooo fun and sooo crazy! Anyways, we arrived in Austin on Friday during the day and got picked up by Paul. We had never met Paul before but we got to know him real quick. He reminded us so much of our dad! We had so much fun with him. He brought us to Wimberley where we unpacked our stuff and practiced with Teddy and Charles. We then went to a dinner party and did an acoustic set for Walter Umphrey and his friends. Before and after, we got to hang out and eat a DELICIOUS filet minot (yes us girls like our food..) with the people at the party. Walter's house was extravagent- I think my fav part about it though were the goats on the bluff right behind the house. Saturday, we got to shop around in Wimberly with Will. Will drove us around while we were in Wimberley- we were so happy to have met him because he was our age and we just clicked with him really well. He also showed us his step dad's ranch, which we got to stay at. It was so huge.. and beautiful. I don't like to shop much..but I did get a cowboy hat :)

Saturday night was the most rewarding part of the trip. We sang at Caitlyn Kirby's celebration party. She had just undergone her last treatment for Leukemia and we were celebrating her second chance at life. Her family and friends were so supportive. The party was carnival style- with cotton candy, corn dogs, popcorn and games! Tor was lovin it. To learn more about Caitlyn, visit http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/caitlynkirby. We spent Saturday night talking some business, then hanging out at the pool at the Omni Hotel in downtown Austin. We didn't get a chance to check out 6th street...maybe next time! We all have troubles staying up late though..so maybe not.

Thanks again to all of the friends and fans we met in Texas, and on our way to and from Texas! Teddy, Bernard, Paul, Doug, Kelly, Will..ya'll treated us so well :-) We can't thank you enough. Caitlyn- thanks for letting us be a part of your celebration.

I could write so much more..but I have to get to bed.

Goodnight,
Ali

Hey everyone! We are heading to Texas in about a week to hangout with Teddy Gentry/Bernard and some of their friends. We are going to sing a few songs at a couple parties we will attend. We are all really excited for the HOT weather! Yipeee. We will miss you all so dearly but can’t wait to start playing for you in July with a rocking band! God’s blessings to everyone!

Update from Lauren

Hey everybody,

Things are going great for the band right now. We have a lot of exciting things happening. The last few shows have gone very well. Thank you all who came out! We have a production company out of Nashville that's interested in working with us. This could lead to some amazing opportunities! Keeping our fingers crossed ;) I can't wait to get in the studio and record! We are planning to be in Nashville sometime in June.

I am just amazed at the support we have from our family, friends and fans. Thank you for your continued support.

Love ya'll,
Lauren

A Message from Torie

First of all, Thank you so much to all of the people that have been coming out to support us!! We get an overwhelming sense of joy when we see all of you show up to our shows!

The last Sunday evening we played in Stillwater was a big night for us. Teddy Gentry from the band "Alabama" drove all the way from TN to see us play. It was a lot of pressure but because of the support and love we received that night from our fans, we had all the confidence and talent we needed! Teddy has agreed to work with us and is excited for what "Redpath" could achieve in the near future. We will keep you posted on that!

We are also looking forward to warm weather! Our father has been water skiing already...he is crazy(we still love him though)! The humidity will help keep our vocal chords hydrated ;) I'm a dork. Alright, again we can't thank everyone enough for your devoted support and we hope to see you really soon!

Love,
Torie

Toren and Al

Here is a quick and cute story that may make you laugh...so our little second cousin Stella has started listening to our demo cd "Let Go" because her parents listen to us and she heard it enough times to recognize the songs. She is probably 3 yrs old, and so she gets us a little confused when she sees us (just like you all do too). She started calling our band "Toren" (mixing torie and lauren together) and saying stuff like "Lets listen to Toren". Then, my aunt got her to realize I'm in the band too, so now she calls us "Toren and Al". Apparently, sometime she lays in bed at night saying "please, Toren and Al one more time" and she has the chorus of "Let Go" memorized. WHAT A CUTIE!

These Late Nights Are Getting To Me…

Wow..Saturday night at the Dugout was so much fun. About 250 people came through the door, which is an improvement from our last tally of 200. Looks like our fan base is growing! I enjoyed singing right in the heart of our hometown. I got to catch up and talk to a lot of people that I hadn’t seen in a really long time. Some mothers of people I went to highschool with even came-saying that although their kid couldn’t make it because they were at college, they told them to come and support us. How awesome is that! Thanks to all of those who came or spread the word even though they couldn’t make it. It really meant a lot to us. I look forward to our next gig at St. Croix Live. It’s a Sunday evening, which is a little scary because some people don’t like the idea of going out on a Sunday. That didn’t stop our fans last time, and hopefully it won’t this time either J. I better get to work and improve those vocals of mine….

Love,
Ali

Fun Night at Blarney's

So Saturday night was our first late night gig EVER. We had so much fun, and I think the crowd enjoyed the show too. We started at 10 PM and got done around 2 AM. I was so exhausted after! By the last set, I was struggling. Anyways, I realized that I like singing to that kind of crowd. The college students seem to love our genre of music, and they get really into it. Instead of having the audience just kind of stare at us, they actually danced and sang along. Even though it was spring break, the place was pretty full! I think we'll be back there again on May 2nd.

So we had a little scare today...we have a gig on April 4th and we couldn't find a bass player. Thankfully, our awesome drummer Timmy Z gave us some recommendations and we found one. So, we're all set! We play at the Dugout Bar in Mahtomedi on Saturday, April 4th at 9 PM. Hope to see you there! :)

Love,
Ali

Note from Torie..always one step behind :)

Hey ya'll! Torie here...we picked up a little southern accent during our stay in Nashville. We got back almost a week ago now and it takes a little time to adjust. Everywhere we went in TN we had our working minds on...handing out demos, meeting anyone we walked by, dropping our demos off at record labels and studios, and some songwriting sessions. We had so much fun video taping our goofy selves. Check out the wonderfully edited video by Ali on our facebook page! So, we met a few contacts that would like to work with us and we are figuring out our schedules to head back out to Nashville and get some songwriting and recording time done!

Ali is staying busy booking and keeping us in line. Lauren is coming up with some great song ideas while keeping herself active in hockey and hanging out with her man. We had a scare a couple nights ago when her boyfriend called to say they were in the hospital. Lauren was a little too feisty on the hockey rink and received a concussion. Happy to say she is feeling better! Me, well I did recently put my two weeks in at the restaurant. So, I'm jobless for the time being. Watch out mom and dad..I might be moving back in..jk. Alright, well we hope to see you all at our show March 21st at Blarney's in dinky town. Show starts at 10:00 PM...I know a late one (I'm worried Lauren will need a little nap between sets.) Hope everyone is having a wonderful week! Stay healthy!

Love,
Torie

We had a wonderful time in Nashville. We worked really hard and didn't have much down time. We tried to meet as many people as possible. We promoted our band in many ways, anything from sitting in at honky tonks on Broadway Street to knocking on doors on Music Row (Where all the music businesses are). We really put ourselves out there and felt that we were successful in making some connections.

It was refreshing to meet so many country music fans as well. Many people come from all over the world to experience the music in Nashville. We got to know people from Germany, Canada and all over the US. We saw some great entertainment while we were there and worked with three very talented songwriters. We came home with 3 new original songs that we're very proud of and can't wait to perform. We will be singing our new song "Hell No" at Blarneys on March 21. Come check it out.

We'd like to thank everyone for keeping us in your thoughts. We got a lot of nice facebook and myspace messages. We posted a video of our trip on our facebook fan page.

Lots of love,
Lauren

Wow! We haven’t updated our journal for a month. So sorry! We have been so busy practicing and booking. I am currently trying to get us some gigs in Eau Claire for a weekend in May. We are performing for a fundraising event at the Boys and Girls Club of the Greater Chippewa Valley. I volunteered there my last semester at UWEC, and they recently asked us to come and support them. We are happy to do it and excited to see what could come of it!! Anyways, we are calling bars and restaurants in Eau Claire and aren’t getting very good luck. Booking is way harder than I thought it would be. Most places are booked up already until the summer. Plus, most of the venues in Eau Claire hire rock bands, not country pop. What? Country pop rocks, and college students love this stuff.

So all three of us sisters are on the same cell phone plan now. We decided to get blackberries, even though we made fun of “Google” aka Mike (Lauren’s boyfriend) for having one. They are very convenient, but a little addicting. It’s basically like having a computer with you at all times. We haven’t gotten our first bill yet..

I am missing my friends and house in Eau Claire. Going from living the college life, where you don’t have to think about much (besides your classes), to trying to make a living off of something you have little experience with, is pretty difficult. Thankfully, my parents let me crash here. I’m hoping to get my own place with some friends soon though :)

I better get back to practicing. We have our first kick off gig on Sunday night and I need to work on my lead songs. I didn’t realize how much goes into leading a song.. but now I’m finding out. Hope everyone is having a great week, and I hope to see a lot of you on Sunday at St. Croix Live!

Ali

"Fred Wobig remembered as community activist who always had a smile"
Joseph Friedrichs, White Bear Press

January 1st, 2009

This month as been a hectic but wonderful one for us. We had many Christmas performances. The highlight was our concert at St. Andrew's. 900 people came out on the coldest night of the year! We are so grateful to have had such a captive audience. We felt honored to be performing for our family, friends and fans. Thank you everyone who attended! After the big show we did a couple airport caroling performances. We also sang at the Mall of America. Another highlight was our appearance on KSTP's "Twin Cities Live." We sang live on Christmas Eve. We had a lot of fun working with co-host Rebecca Wood. She was so sweet to us and very encouraging. I believe you can still see the clip at www.kstp.com.

We have some sad news to report... our gramps, Frederick Edward Wobig died yesterday. We are so thankful that we got to spend one last Christmas with him. On Christmas night we went to his assisted living... the WHOLE fam, boyfriends and fiances included and sang Christmas carols with him. Even though he couldn't join in the singing we could tell he felt the Christmas Spirit. We will miss him dearly but we know he is in heaven and finally at peace.

I'd like to wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!

With love,
Redpath, Lauren, Torie & Ali

September 10th, 2008

Lauren just taught me a new song she wrote in Nashville. It's called "Don't Let Me Down Easy," and she is giving me chorus lead...how exciting ;)!

Ali is off to school and busy getting back into the routine until December when she graduates. Lauren is in a transition mode where she is putting her focus towards way more important things...our group! She has been busy writing songs, networking, contacting our producers, and booking gigs. She's Hot..and ready to mingle. (don't tell her I told you) Anyway...I'm still working at the restaurant. I'm trying to work between schedules of singing and serving but it's getting frustrating. I might be throwing in the towel at that place real soon.

We have a photo shoot on Sunday for Woodbury Magazine...look for the story on us in November!!! Thats all for now...Hope everyone is enjoying their second week of fall!

Love,
Torie
